Every year, Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana (Make-A-Wish OKI) creates hundreds of life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Since our founding in 1983, we have granted more than 10,000 wishes for Ohio kids.

Make-A-Wish traces its inspiration to Christopher Greicius, an energetic 7-year-old boy battling leukemia who wishes to be a police officer. In 1980, his Phoenix community came together to make his wish come true. Little did Chris know that his wish would create a movement that would transform millions of lives. Today, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 500,000 life-changing wishes to children battling critical illnesses worldwide.

Make-A-Wish is more than wish-granting; it’s a global movement of transforming lives through hope. Wishes help bring hope, strength, and joy to children in their darkest days. Now more than ever, that hope is essential. By granting a wish, you give children so much more than a temporary escape. You provide them with a wellspring of strength to keep fighting for better days. And you give yourself a reason to feel hopeful again, too. A child’s wish begins with hope –and hope begins with you.

All money raised locally stays locally to make wishes come true for northwest Ohio kids. To learn more about how you can volunteer, donate, and share the Make-A-Wish mission, visit wish.org/oki or contact Cherie Chatreau-Grifo at cgrifo@oki.wish.org or (419) 469-6321.
