Our Third Annual Share-A-Glass event on February 23, 2013 was a rousing success, raising over $4,200 toward operating expenses for our annual agency Campaign. This mix-and-mingle event provides us with the opportunity to raise a glass in thanks to our workplace coordinators for the hard work and effort they put into their workplace campaigns on behalf of Community Shares and our member agencies, as well as generous event sponsors UAW Local 14 and Heidelberg Distributing. Over 200 guests enjoyed the evening, including lovely piano music provided by Matthew Chambers, a resident artist with the Collingwood Arts Center.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Robert Brundage Award to Sue Carter, a long-time Board member and past President of the ACLU. In addition to her many other activities, Sue was recognized for her 20-year career at the University of Toledo Medical Center dedicated to serving people living with AIDS, HIV, and cancer in northwest Ohio.
